This is what the man cited in regard to the BountyGate scandal just two seasons ago. Now, it's his main excuse in the Ray Rice case. I know it's beating a dead horse but this is a case of complete hypocrisy by the all powerful Roger Goodell.

Good article about it here...

quote:

And those are the rules, right? Because how is this substantially different than the charge Goodell—with righteous indignation—levied against Saints head coach Sean Payton and general manager Mickey Loomis two years ago in the team’s bounty scandal? As you recall, ignorance wasn’t accepted as a defense when Payton and Loomis claimed they weren’t aware of what renegade defensive coordinator Gregg Williams was up to in his meeting room, with his bounty pool nonsense.

Goodell’s tough-guy stance was, If you didn’t know exactly what was going on in your program, that’s no excuse. You should have known. Case closed. Punishment dispensed.

AP is reporting that a law enforcement officer confirms with a voicemail that he send the video to the NFL offices on April 9th.

The plot thickens.

It's time for the NFL owners to fire this a-hole and move on with fixing the league's image and reputation that he has ruined.

Well, let's slow down there. The NFL has a serious problem with its players, as well. It's not fair to pin the actions of players such as Ray Rice, Ray McDonald, Greg Hardy, etc. on the commissioner.

However, it's his responsibility to enforce a code of conduct and stand by that code when issuing judgement on players actions. He has been remarkably inconsistent when it comes to this and, for that, I can see him being fired. I seriously doubt it, though. This is the most profitable the league has ever been and I'm sure in the owners eyes, RG is somewhat responsible for that.

In all seriousness, and just to beat a dead horse, what proof was there on bounty gate?

1) The powerpoint- I spent several times reading that and laughing my arse off.

2) Hargrove, possible him, saying "give me my money" at a random time in an NFL game

3) Hitting Favre really hard

4) GW saying mean things to pump his team up. Although the achilles talk was over the line.

Anything else?

I know, just drop it, doesn't matter. I just think this shows what alot of us Saints fans have felt for a couple years, that the league will lie and cover shite up.

Right. If there is any truth to this then I think some would have to question some of the other actions Goodell has taken.

a lot of stuff about bounty gate didn't make sense to me. But I'm over it.

at least he is sitting there with a shite sandwich in his hand right now.

I'm usually not a fan of the pitch fork crowd running to judge people but Goodell is an a-hole.

so I have no sympathy for him.

There is nothing worse than a hypocrite. He should be held to the same standard he held Sean Payton to.
