I've seen several good arguments discrediting this. One being that many of the passwords are 3-4 characters, google enforces longer passwords.

Google and Yandex representatives told CNews that while the credentials were stolen through years of phishing and hacking against individuals, their own systems were never compromised.

There wasn't a breach at google, just people phishing websites.

Not recently, no... but it doesn't mean that people who are still using older passwords aren't vulnerable.

I'm surprised most online authentication doesn't require passwords to be changed after 3 months at the longest.
