They're used to it. They know that a good part of the job is saying things to the media like "We know (upcoming cupcake) is a very good team and we respect them." Talking up your conference is just part of that.

At one point in time, Big 10 schools, Nebraska and Notre Dame could come down south and cherry pick whoever they wanted from the south and from Texas. They haven't done that in at least a decade now and it shows on the field.

Though neither were Big 10 schools then, but I agree with your general sentiment. For 50 years the midwestern schools took in minorities cause the south didn't want them and now those same minorities are staying south.
