Need to have some boudin and sausage and other meats shipped ASAP. Who does this that has decent boudin?

I've been in this boat before. (regular boat, not Motorboat).

If there is a place you've always liked, I'd check there first. Many of them do this as a normal part of their business.

I've used best stop before. Know that, regardless of where you buy, the shipping cost is likely to be some multiple of the cost of the boudin/sausage.

This x1,000...

Was about to make a purchase from Billy's and shipping costs were astronomical even for UPS Ground. My $250 worth of food was going to cost some $200+ to ship using regular shipping; overnight or 2 day would have cost a fortune.

They must make more money off the shipping then they do the food.

I think I'm gonna see if I can find a Tiger coming in for the UF game who will be willing to exchange boudin and such for some Florida beers or cash!

I don't know if they or the shipping company are making the money.

Either way the cost is usually prohibitive.

Heck pick something less perishable.

I tried to order some Crystal Extra Hot Sauce once. You can buy it in the store for about $1.50 or less. Shipping was about $12. And you don't have to worry about spoilage like for boudin.

You laugh, I'd make some serious effort to land a pile of boudin, fresh sausage, cracklins and and a few stuffed chickens and such.

You just cant find such things outside of LA very easily..

It's pretty closed to impossible to find good quality Louisiana delicacies like smoked sausage, boudin, cracklin, etc outside of Louisiana. It's gotta be shipped.
