Narrowed it down to these two. If Anyone owns one of these or has a real opinion advice is appreciated.

I've heard people really like the acadias, but they seem to have a lot of problems? Maybe the newer ones are better?

Dad used to have a QX (same thing as Armada), just rode in an Acadia for the first time last week. QX was a lot bigger, but Acadia had a better ride to me.

That's what I felt. Test drove both. Armada was bigger and higher but Acadia was smoother ride. Haven't really heard of major problems with either. FWIW certified preowned on both. 2013 or 2014.

Had a brand new one with less than 300 miles as a rental

Would never buy. Hated how it drove as well as the interior's setup

two totally different vehicles. Armada is rear wheel drive and a big-time gas gussler with terrible resale value. Acadia is front wheel drive and a v-6 with better fuel economy. Apples to oranges. You can find 2014 Acadia's with heavy discounts right now with the 2015's hitting the lots. The Armada is a cold old design. Just my take.

Neither. Buy the real family truckster.

You think you hate it now, wait 'til you drive it.

Have heard the same thing. Close friend had one thay barely lasted 100k miles and left his wife on the side of the road a couple times.

Only 1st person experience i have with them.

Armada. Acadia is a piece of crap. Bad transmission issues.

This.

Acadia is another boring car-chassis V6 crossover

Armada is essentially a Nissan Tahoe. Body on frame, truck V8, all that business.

Love the Armada. Test drove one when looking (got something smaller [wife's ride]).

Plus, not a GM.

We have an 07 Acadia. Had the known issue with the timing chain stretch. The GMC Dealer was being assholes about warrantying it. (GM extended the warranty to 120000 miles for the issue instead of recalling and it's a $3500 job otherwise). But the Chevy Dealer right next door(literally) took care of it, no questions asked.

There was also a major issue with the sunroof drains leaking into the body and dash causing electrical issues. (I purposefully didn't get one with a sunroof for that reason)

Otherwise, we love the car. Get bench seats in the 2nd row if u have kids. Makes it so much easier to get to the 3rd row.

I believe those issues have been resolved with the updated refresh GMC did on the entire Lambda platform(codename for all the GM vehicles that are on that chassis).

Those aren't the best choices, but of those two, Acadia.

I'd suggest a Durango or a Tahoe, but my mother has an Acadia and it is awesome. Get it with captains chairs.
