Any good? Booked trip and cabin for last week of October. I am targeting specks and reds. Speck bite here on Fort Morgan is hit and miss. Reds here are steady. Just wanted to try something different and get away from our usual spots.

No...booked a cabin from some guy named clay at Bayou Log Cabins. He is a guide and has four cabins. Nice guy but sounds a bit like Troy Landry from Swamp People.

Oh yeah in Lake Hermitage.

Clay is the guys name right? Its pretty easy fishing there.

Thats the time of year you can start catching specks off the dock at night,

Not really going for a fishing experience...lol. Just trying to do something different for a change. Not familiar with the area. Anything to do besides fish and food in that area?

No....Once you exit the main road you will drive down a shell road for bout 5 or so (mebbe more) miles.

Brother, there is nothing around so bring what you want. You can go back up to Belle Chasse eat, couple of places to eat there.

I didnt see anything on my google investigation.
Plan on packing in a ton of beer and shrimp. I just wanted to get away from our area here and try some new fishing. Clay sounded like he knew what he was doing. I told him I used to Captain trips out of Zeke's and Sportsman's and he wanted to do a trade off. I figured it would be a good chance to see some other swampy areas and get away from the rat race for a few days. Thanks for the info.

79 you fish down that way much? We used to have the camp in the corner if the lake by smith bayou. We used to kill the crabs in that bayou.
