Any fans of The Newsroom?

Just started watching it recently, and it is one of my favorites already. I didn't expect to like Jeff Daniels in this part, but he's great. Emily Mortimer is divine. Watching Season 1 Episode 6, "Bullies," and it is a brilliant hour of television. Haven't seen it talked about much here.
ETA - I wasn't too familiar with John Gallagher, Jr. prior to this, but he is brilliant in this part. And Olivia Munn - well, just....Damn!

I love it. It gets a lot of hate from people who cant separate politics from entertainment.

I tried watching the first season, was hoping the blonde would get nekkid but she didn't :(
The show had the opportunity to tell a story of what journalism SHOULD BE but instead it ends up being episode after episode of characters surrounded by a plot which exists almost solely to support the progressive political and cultural points Sorkin wants to make, often in non sequitur monologues.
Even the potential of a nude Olivia Munn isn't enough to get me to watch another season.
The show had the opportunity to tell a story of what journalism SHOULD BE but instead it ends up being episode after episode of characters surrounded by a plot which exists almost solely to support the progressive political and cultural points Sorkin wants to make, often in non sequitur monologues.

The political aspects of the dialogue didn't really bother me. I just kept sitting there thinking, who the frick talks like this in everyday life? Nobody, that's who. I couldn't get past that and gave up on the show.
