very bizarre. It's a strange industry. I enjoyed Marti's. I wonder if they're having financial issues. I'd hate to see it close.

That doesn't really seem like much of an abrupt departure. They had been discussing his leaving for months, and had been grooming the sous chef. Sounds like he wanted to leave now, and they wanted him to stay a little longer. What's the big deal?

I guess it's not a BIG deal, but kind of strange in that the owner is claiming he found out through a 3rd party that his chef had quit.
