Should Jerry Stovall's number be retired by LSU? What say you?

Did he win the Heisman or serve time?

If the answer is no to both of those questions, then I say no on the jersey retirement.

I was 8 yrs old when he, Billy Cannon and Scooter Purvis came to St. Agnes school and spoke with the football team for the school. It was at practice. I remember thinking, damn they don't have any teeth

No face masks to speak of back then

Casanova is in the ring of honor. Stovall and Tittle should also be.

I agree with that statement. Stovall was Mr. Everything back in the early 60's, both on defense and offense...BMOC back in the day...

OK...so how do we create a drive for Jerry to be installed into the ring of honor or retire his number through the media, which I think are two different things? Who, with any influence can lead the charge.

Jerry Stovall

Here's a pretty cool write up about JS when he was inducted into the LA Sports HOF. The time frame is when he was AD at Tech. Enjoy!
