NFL: Ray Rice video was not made available to them, despite requests to law enforcement. Nothing on whether NFL had account of what happened

The @NFL says “no one in our office had seen” the Ray Rice video until today. It’s my understanding the #Ravens had not seen it either.

Score one for the NFL.

Yep. They are about to get some positive PR and Rice is about to get the hammer.

Spin. Next we are going to hear that since the ruling has already been passed they can't do anything about it, though they would like to increase his suspension and will be tougher in the future. What the hell is so shocking about the video? We knew he knocked her the f out. Did people think he blew on her or something?

Peter King reported in July that they had in fact seen it.

The NFL also didnt' have access to video footage of Josh Gordon smoking weed, and yet they still hammered him for levels that were well below other athletic standards.

Goodell is infuriating.

What they really mean is, they didn't know the public would have access to the video when they made their decision

I mean I don't know why they needed to see this in order to punish him severely. The first video should have been enough. Did they think she knocked herself out?

I don't think Double Jeopardy applies to private companies. I could certainly see Rice getting a much harsher penalty soon.
