What's the origins of 'buga' and hand sign?

is buga some kind of rap word, like in the run/dmc song "mary mary why you buggin" or maybe a variation of bugs (as in: that roach was really big but I smashed that buga) or booger (you got a big buga hanging out your nose). Or is it just some abstract made up word. Also whats the signifigance of the 'everythings A OK' (buga) hand sign.
