Acoustics in Tiger Stadium?
Posted by Bootycall on 9/7/14 at 2:08 pm01
Did anyone else notice how bad the acoustics were last night? Was it like that all over or could it have just been where I was sitting? I was in the lower south end zone around the goal line.

Sounded like they were playing the band through the speakers. Do they always do this?

They were playing the band through the speakers...they had mics set up in front of them.

No they don't and it sounded awful.
It was awful and aggravating ... section 419. Petty to complain about it I know but it irritated the crap out of me.
I texted my son in the SS and asked if they'd changed the chants! And the video narrations -- yeah, couldn't understand those.
And no, the band hasn't been miked before that I know of.

Thought so.
This was my first game outside of the student section in a while, so I wasn't sure if this was commonplace over the past few years.
Sounded awful. And the squealing mic didn't help.

It really was awful. I was rather disappointed I must say.

The acoustics didn't bother me as much as the constant blinking lights. I thought I was about to have a seizure. Many older people around me had to leave because it was causing headaches. They need to tone this down a little. I felt like I was at a rave.

I was in the north east and it was AWFUL.

Same here with the lights ... I didn't get a headache but I did keep turning around to see who was flipping a light switch on and off and then I'd remember ... I just don't like any of it.

The blinking lights were awful.
LSU is overdoing it on the ads.

I still love TS but in all honesty, the in-game experience without all the 'technology' was better 40 years ago. The old scoreboards showed me everything I needed to know to follow the game without having to wade through the maze of advertisements.
I guess the real-time replays are a plus but everything else just seems excess and a nuisance.

Ribbon boards gave me epilepsy.

why not have the clock, downs, etc on the north end zone scoreboard. Looking to this two small ones in corners of south end zone got old quick
