Probably about 20-30 minutes per speck. No, no wax....I pluck them with those yellow rubber gloves that have grips on them. Trick is go down with the feathers first time over then back against them after that. Repeat over and over and it gets them cleaned quicker and you arent wearing you hands out. After i clean them good i run them over my burner to get all the little hairs off. Done.
If they are full of pinfeathers then you are kinda fricked. I just grit through it and pluck them as well as i can.

Very impressive man. I've got lazier and now i only pluck breasts and carve out with skin attached unless I'm doing gumbo. Is there a lot of flavor in the neck (I notice you plucked that too).
I love duck fat, and the leg meat, but for the return I just have a hard time plucking all them birds every time.

Whew!! It's been a roller coaster on the first four hunts of the year. Limited 1 and the rest has been crap. Ended up shooting spoonies and scaup just to get points on the board
