Someone had posted an article on the A&M board that quoted coaches from major TX HS programs talking about how they don't even know any SMU assistants or have any relationship with them. Like they had basically given up on recruiting altogether. It definitely seems like Jones is trying to force them to fire him instead of just retiring.
Sad to see the dumpster fire they've become in such a short time period. We've been playing them OOC for a while and that game is more fun when they have a competent squad

Yeah it was Dr RC. This has to be his last year. They are horrible. They should be able to get someone good, they have money and it's a great non P5 job. No reason they shouldn't be competitive every year now

The easy into the big bowls and they can easily out recruit TCU and the commitment back into athletics makes them a lucrative job.

I really think Beck would be a great hire. I'm biased as I worked with him at SMS. He is fantastic offensive mind, worked for Snyder, Heacock, Pellini, and totally rebuilt horrible hs programs earlier.
