I hesitated until now because of the potential creepiness/weirdness factor but it was actually a pretty good experience. Seamless experience, very easy to use app, good and clean car and a driver that was trying to get a good rating and said no to the tip. Overall, about half the price of a cab. Can't imagine going back to cabs now.

Disclaimer: I don't work for über nor intend to.

Not sure if sarcasm. Probably. I'm just sharing the experience as someone who is pretty circumspect about this stuff.

My über experience went well as well; the driver did seem at first a bit disappointed when I said that the kids had changed their minds about going out to eat with us but his mood lightened when I told him that they were going to stay home alone.

One side note: He kept mumbling something about what he was going to do with his tip.....

I've had nothing but good experiences with uber. It's the better way to get a ride.

I have seen people posting about uber. Is it random people using their personal vehicles and acting as cabbies? Is that the gist of it?

It is... Uber Black just got approved. I'm sure it won't be long before UberX shows up as well.

I work near an airport. If I drove for Uber, could I see the destination of the passenger before choosing to pick then up? Might not be a bad way to make some $ to and from work.

Let's see "nobody tips"

It's cheaper than a cab and you tip a cab, tip your uber drivers. Don't be a cheap arse.
