Who'd a thunk it?

WASHINGTON (AP) — Abandoning his pledge to act by the end of summer, President Barack Obama has decided to delay any executive action on immigration until after the November congressional elections, White House officials said.
The move is certain to infuriate immigration advocates while offering relief to some vulnerable Democrats in tough Senate re-election contests.
Two White House officials said Obama concluded that circumventing Congress through executive actions on immigration during the campaign would politicize the issue and hurt future efforts to pass a broad overhaul.

So, instead, he'll circumvent Congress when it won't be politically damaging to the Dems.
At least he's finally being transparent.

So Republicans should release a statement on Monday indicating that they will now wait until after the November midterms to begin impeachment proceedings to remove the dictatorial POTUS.

Basically he admits that it's something that is unpopular and would hurt his party's elections.
Here is my question: if they understand that it's something a majority of people are against then why do it at all? They are supposed to represent the wishes of the people

Does this piece of crap EVER do something that is not purely political????

Apparently the power that comes with buying millions of democratic voters far outweighs the overall needs of the country and their constituency...

Always politics with this guy - has nothing to do with the actual policy itself, but what will help/hurt his own party.

We already have defacto amnesty. Basically by announcing this he has cover to keep doing the administrative things like delaying proceedings. Everyone will ignore the issue but those poor people will be left in limbo. In 4 or 5 years when something is finally legislated, it will provide clarity.

Wishful thinking on my part.... but if Republicans take the Senate and Obama follows through on his amnesty threats after November, the Republican house needs to vote to impeach and the Republican senate needs to start impeachment trial... won't win due to two-thirds majority requirement but it further piles on BhO's legacy of failure as a leader...

So, now he will do it as a Christmas present
What a COWARD.
If Republicans had any sense, and most don't, they would harp on the fact that it's as good as done NOW.

Because they don't give a shite what people think. Same mentality with Obmacare. Liberal progressive Dems will further their agenda regardless of the consequences.

How many promises/pledges/warnings has the man gone back on? You seriously can't take anything he says seriously.
I'd have more respect for the man if he'd actually follow through, even though I disagree with what he wants to do.

He's full of baloney and afraid of his own shadow. Incompetent, spineless, and too full of himself to care about anyone else! Our 'fearless leader!'

Pretty much. Our government under Obama has become a government for the minority, not the majority. There is an underlying reason for this I'd think.

What difference does it make?
They're already here anyway. And the border remains wide open.

Because they do not give even a single frick about the will of the people.

Democratic Republic govts get the best of both situations. The majority can't run over the minority. Unfortunately when you have elected someone to a position of great power, sometimes they ram something unpalatable down the majority's throat.
For every Carter who wants to bring us together by sharing misery, there is a Reagan. For ever Obama who wants to drag us down to third world status, we hope there is a similar Bat-antidote.

No surprise really...

Overwhelming numbers.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 62% of Likely U.S. Voters oppose the president granting amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants without the approval of Congress. Just 26% are in favor of Obama's plan, while 12% are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
