Best place to launch boat for Manchac Wma

? Is there any public launch by Middendorfs? Or do you have to go all the way north to port manchac and follow the canal with all the camps on the west side of the interstate?

It's not far at all from the north pass launch (by port manchac) to the lake. Short idle zone, but that's about it. From the launch to middendorfs might be 8-10 minutes at most. There is a public launch at Ruddock, but I don't recommend leaving your truck there any extended period of time. If you do, empty it out and leave the doors unlocked. Will save yourself a busted window

We launched from Ruddock a couple weeks ago. There was a cop that passed as we launched and as we were picking up. I think it's safer there now from talking to a few people.

Did they fix the ramp. The last time i was there it was very steep and you need a 4×4.

That was the first time I've been there so I don't know what it was like before. We launched with no problems at all. (2wd)

North Pass is safe. Ruddock may be safer now than in the past, but when I launched there 2 weeks ago, there was a string of about 5 piles of greenish-glass on the ground. Someone went along a line of vehicles popping windows...thugs

Isn't there a launch on the south side of the pass across from Middendorf's next to those bars? Or is it not public?

Provate launch. Cant say i havent snuck down it at 3 am for a duck hunt
