Good read.

That first self-titled album was all over the place. It just wasn't arranged well (i.e. their first try at Willin).

Then you add Paul Barrere and the whole thing took off. Truly one of the great additions to a lineup in rock and roll history.

The solo Lowell album that is mentioned is also amazing.

I can still hear Burkey singing background harmonies on What Do You Want The Girl To Do in the shower every morning.

That's actually my favorite version of Willin. It's different because Ry Cooder plays the slide for it since Lowell George managed to cut up his hand while working on a model airplane.

Little Feat's been one of my favorite bands for a very long time. They were actually pretty good after Lowell George's death. The best concert I've ever seen was their first show without him on the Riverboat President for Jazzfest.

Robert Palmer's Sneaking Sally Through the Alley record is a good spin with Lowell on the slip n slide.
