Officials in Tangipahoa Parish say approximately $1 million in processed marijuana and 320 large marijuana plants were found at a "cartel like" setup in Hammond, LA. Four people were arrested and a child was placed in the custody of the Department of Children and Family Services.
quote:

Early Tuesday morning, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office received a report that 25-year-old Megan Crain stole a vehicle and was possibly headed to Tangipahoa. The victim also accused Crain of having illegal narcotics in a white plastic garbage bag in the backseat of the vehicle.
quote:

Deputies found the stolen vehicle with Crain, 49-year-old Dagoberto Rodriguez, 30-year-old Brent Crain and a juvenile inside. When officials searched the vehicle and the occupants, they found four rocks of crack cocaine and a crack pipe. Investigators also learned Rodriguez had four outstanding failure to appear warrants for his arrest.

quote:

"During interviews with the subjects, agents learned of the marijuana grow located on Guy Road in Tangipahoa," said agents in a news release Friday. "Agents relocated to this area where the investigation continued. Upon arrival, agents were led to a large field in a wooded area where a large scale 'cartel like' marijuana grow was operating. As agents walked through the field they observed at least 318 massive marijuana plants, an irrigation system set up supplying the plants with water, components of processing and cultivation such as fertilizer, and 3 outdoor drying stations containing approximately 250 pounds of processing marijuana."

Well I guess they threw the grow out to get out of jail, but IMO GTA is a much bigger crime than cultivation.
Outside weed is for the minorities anyway.

Guy road in Kentwood?

short little road, but lots of woods around.

Dumb arse people to even mention the grow.
They are probably employed by the grower and believed that line the cops give "we aren't interested in small timers, let us know who you got it from and the judge will go easier on you"

What? Outdoor weed is just as good as indoor, if not better, in many cases. Its not 1996 anymore and people aren't growing swag in these large operations.

I was joking.

Actually if you just kill all the male plants, you will get good stuff even from Schwag seeds.

But crackhead ran operation? IDK, I would guess at best they were growing midgrade.

I assume the indoor stuff has the perception of being better because the conditions can be controlled a lot more closely and precisely -- heat/light, and CO2 concentration.

I doubt an outdoor grow in Tangi parish run by crackheads is producing high quality bud.

Never known that to be the case. From personal experience having complete control over your grow environment will produce far superior product than anything grown outdoors. Oscillating lights that move on tracks to mimic the sun to cause perfect hedging, heavy fans to strengthen the stalks to carry more bud, air/hydroponics allows direct control over the amount of nutrients each plant receives, 24/7 climate control.....
I don't think it's even close.
Bonus....Healthy fan leaves = ability to make hash from what would be waste outdoors.

What are the possible sentences on stealing a car vs felony drug possession/intent to distribute/etc?

I've grown indoors for over 15 years, I am well aware of how it works. I am just saying there is outdoor shite from the Pacific NW that is as good as anything out there.
