I hate the camo on it, so I will buy some new furniture for it and have upper and lower dipped or ceracoted(sp?)
will changing the flash suppressor out with something different make it quieter? if so what?

Love the sp1, light weight goodness. I have a 1970 manufacture and it's one gun I will never part with.

IIRC the twist in the SP1 barrel is 'longer' than the new guns (1:12 maybe?) which limits it to 55gr bullets and below.
