I have had directive for 12 years and almost cut them loose over the SEC network fiasco and now I got the WATCH ESPN app and it doesn't carry Directv.

you are saying it backwards.

I'm guessing you mean when will DirectTV carry Watch ESPN...right?

is this a rhetorical question?

When we get Al la Carte channels.

What in the world are you talking about? Watch ESPN is not an actual channel unless I'm missing something. It's an online mobile version of ESPN. I'm confused now!

You can not deviate from the prime directive.

I think what he's asking is when will Directv subscribers have access to the WatchESPN app.
When you log in you have to enter your cable or internet service provider. You can't use your Directv account to log in.
You can just find a friend with Cox and use their info... done that before.

you keep hearing rumors about them negotiating it. at this point though i kinda find it hard to believe. those rumors have been out for awhile now.

I have Directv... but I also have ATT Uverse internet

so I use that to access WatchESPN
Except for me my UVerse login credentials don't grant me WatchESPN access because they know you only have internet through UVerse and not the TV service which is what is required in order to access WatchESPN

Yeah I realized that wasn't right after I typed it... I've been using a friend's Cox log in info

I have the same problem with Charter. I use them for internet, but that doesn't get you access to WatchESPN.

They've been "negotiating" for a long time now. It seems the answer is, "whenever DirecTV decides to pay up."

Better question is when the app on xbox live be updated to carry the SEC network. Pretty annoying

Hopefully by the end of this month when the current ESPN/Directv contract ends. No way Directv drops the ESPN channels due to a contract dispute during football season.

Probably some time after October. Directv's contract with ESPN/Disney is up at that time and ESPN only negotiates the watchespn rights with programming contracts
