Thought it had been to long since a good UBER thread. The city council is taking the issue up again.

Rode Uber around DC last week. It's good and decently efficient if not in a rush.

But let's not pretend those people know where the heck they're going. If you don't have an address or know exactly where to direct them, you're better off cabbing it.

How would an Uber driver be less likely to know their way around the city they live in than a cab driver?

Every one of them has google maps regardless.

The city council had to impose new regulations to force the cabbies to have gps devices. This was just last year and the cabbie unions bitched and moan about the horror of having to do this and accept credit cards.

Exactly. I've been in cabs in NOLA directing the driver where to go, either cause he had no idea or was trying to screw me by taking the longer route.

We have both Uber and Lyft in Tampa. Both are great.

I stayed at Donovan House last week in DC. For those that don't know, it's essentially on a round about that comes to 3 points.

Well, it took the guy literally 5 times around the whole block and 15 minutes to figure out what corner it was on because GPS was confused. And then didn't know what corners. I was late for my plane.

I had to laugh. Ahmed and his Fiesta are going to kill somebody.

but it will get my drunkass home or back to my hotel in a timely manner.

Here is paradise though the cops will drive you back home or to the bar. Now that is protecting and serving

Uber cost me my first bang last week. Had the young lady on the couch and our shirts were off. I went to the men's room to powder my balls, come back, and she drops an "oh by the way, I have an Uber coming" as we resume making out.

No way she could have done that via cab where she'd have been put on hold for 10 minutes

So UBER stopped you from losing your virginity? I bet if the NOLA cab companies found out about it they would have made it an issue today and most of the council would have agreed with them.

Man, my sentence structure was indeed lousy on that one.

"That was the first time that Uber cost me a sexual encounter by being so damn convenient and quick" would have been more eloquent.

Minimum of $15 for black car. I am not going to be one bit upset when UBERX shows up shooting the bird to the city council.
