I remember a thread about this a while back, but has anyone done this?

It seems like it could be a good option if hunting alone. Would also be more convenient then having to lug a blind and all the gear in a real boat.

Been working on a design for one, more of a hybrid kayak/gheenoe though

You going to fashion some outriggers or something else for stability?

Already have them. Probably won't need them though. I have a Jackson.

Just bring a marsh seat and stash the yak and sit it the grass

Looking at doing the same thing for the rice fields we lease. Sometimes the pits aren't in the right place based on the wind and need the mobile option.

As far as rice fields, layout blinds with tubs is the way to go

Turn the yak over and sit on it?

I'm assuming it's brown/tan

Me, Polar Pop and another friend of mine are doing this in the next week or so. Bought some military surplus netting for a base and then bulk ordered raffia to zip tie to the netting. I'll be using some small diameter PVC to arch between the rod holders on the Cuda I often use to add a little height to the blind and break up my profile a little bit.

Update on our blind building. A friend of mine made his. He made a PVC frame for his Native Ultimate 14 that has an up and a down position depending on whether you're hunting or moving. Zip-tied camo netting to the frame and then zip-tied bulk raffia to the netting. We will use camo spray paint to break up the raffia.
Frame upside down after painting:

Down position for paddling:

Up position for hunting:

Polar Pop and I will be making similar blinds for our yaks as well and I'll update when that occurs.

Storage will be a bear. It's a rigid frame so it needs some considerable storage space. Getting in and out shouldn't be much of an issue. Not sure on paddling, but I doubt it'll be too big of an issue. It also doesnt weigh much, which was another concern. About 10#: 8# of raffia and the pvc frame.
