Getting grub in enemy territory. Recommendations for the ATL area

Flying in for the game tomorrow and coming home Monday night. Will be staying about 30mins, give or take, from the GDome but will be playing downtown for most of the stay. NOLA food has me spoiled but I'm sure ATL has something to offer.
Bars, restaurants, pubs, and any brewery recommendations appreciated.
What cha got?

Saw a show about The Varsity the other day, looked like a cool place to try for lunch

I liked Ria's Bluebird for breakfast the last time I was there.

Vortex
Varsity
Taco Mac are all good choices.
Which direction 30 minutes away will you be?
And what is your definition of 30 minutes? That's a serious question.

I go to the Varisty every time I am in Atlanta, or driving through.
EVERY TIME.
EVERY TIME.

You will not be impressed with the food at Taco Mac, but the taps are .

Northeast of the city somewhere between Norcross and Duluth. About 25 miles or so but now I'm hearing traffic out there is no joke. So I'm guessing more than 30mins? :bang head:
I haven't been to ATL since 97 when I was in my teens so I'm definitely NOT hanging around away from where the action is. Anything is game. In fact, one of my bros suggested we go to the Pink Pony.

Best breakfast in Atlanta IMO. Brisket and eggs with a short stack of banana pecan pancakes FTW

i'd have to go with west egg cafe...ria's doesn't impress me...and the wait staff can be really insufferable.

you won't be too far from decatur from either norcross or downtown...there are many good bars and restaurants there in a fairly small area...brick store pub, the square pub, the iberian pig, leon's full service, cakes and ale...there are probably over a dozen bars and restaurants on "the square" alone...midtown also has a lot of great options.

Rias sucks. Best breakfast in georgia is at the martins on powder springs road
Large tenderloin egg and cheese
Single with gravy
Large tea half n half
Food coma

Martins any location has the best biscuits. On the planet. Tenderloin and egg is biscuit is a religious experience.
Varsity chili dogs and onion rings.
Hickory House in Tucker or Community Q on Clairmont Road in Decatur have the best barbecue. Either place get the Brunswick stew, veggies. Community has Mac n cheese you won't believe.
For great southern cooking, the Barbecue Kitchen on Virginia Avenue in Hapeville. Great country fried steak, fried chicken, greens, veggies.
Cafe Acadiana in Duluth owned by Paul from Lafayette. Nuff said.
Believe me on this - I'm from New Orleans and live to eat.

Some great recommendations to start with. Thanks fellas!
I'm having a morning beer now at the Ye Olde College Inn on concourse D waiting on my flight and got me thinking…..is ATL not big in the way of brew pubs or breweries worthing checking out/touring?

As for breweries
Sweetwater is good.
If you can get over to Athens-only about an hour from your hotel, Terrapin is good as well.
