It's been a good summer for jobs. Private employers added 204,000 new workers in August, payroll processing firm ADP (ADP) said Thursday.

That marks the fifth straight month of companies adding at least 200,000 new hires to their payrolls. To put it another way, over one million jobs have been added in the private sector since April.

"Steady as she goes in the job market," said Mark Zandi, chief economist of Moody's Analytics.

The especially encouraging news is that businesses of all sizes and across all industries are hiring.

Jobs that pay middle wages, such as in government or manufacturing, are also on the rise now, Zandi said. Job gains early in the economic recovery were fueled by low-wage employment and later followed by higher-paying positions.

The recent claims data "continue to paint a relatively upbeat picture" about the jobs market, said Daniel Silver, an economist at JPMorgan Chase.

What will be the new talking point to call "Obama's" economic policies a disaster?

Wage increases appear to be on the horizon next so probably a good idea to be prepared with the talking point after that one next.

I'm just glad Romney and his ridiculous economic and tax plan didn't have a chance to really frick us like GWB on steroids.

Obama's policies have been awesome and he deserves the credit now that the economy is kicking arse and has recovered from the Republican disaster he inherited.

You do realize how much $$$ the Obama administration threw at the problem? You do realize that it took YEARS to get the unemployment number to where they claimed it would be if they spent all of that money?

Oh, so his policies don't matter now.

All I have heard for 6 years is the economy is his fault around here.

That's what I thought....you can't name a single Obama policy that has helped the job market.

OK, you win. The economy's doing great.

Obama's Big Government policies are doing great.

We'll see in November.

I don't think the economy is his fault, what I do think is that most of what he has done to try to fix it has ended up hindering a faster recovery.

I don't follow anyones talking points and am equally hated by the left and right here.... I don't give a frick what people think about me.

I think both parties are shite and will call it as I see them.

Obama wanted to extended unemployment benefits.

What kind of effect do you think that would have had on these numbers?

All of the blame none of the credit.

This argument will flip when and if we get our next Republican president.

Link?

Nobody here has ever blamed him solely for the economy.

ETA: I stand corrected. Zach blames Obama solely for the state of the economy.

That doesn't come close to answering his question.

I do. I posted it here before he was elected. I said that Biz Con would cause no normal recovery. Flat line. I was right. Then posters here said that it would eventually happen in 2nd term. It hasn't. Businesses are sitting on capital. This is the worst recovery in the history of recoveries.
That's why the left describes it as 'new normal.'

They did the same thing during Carter.

The job market is crap.

All net gain in jobs in North Carolina since 2000 has went to illegals or legal immigrants.

10 percent of the job force in California are illegal aliens

Most jobs being created now are low wage service jobs.

Nany jobs now are part time jobs.

Hold your hand up and say, I am a dumb liberal.

I don't disagree, but he doesn't get the full blame. There are plenty others in congress who deserve blame as well.

The market is picking up, there's no doubt. But how many of these jobs are full time? How many are part time? Is the middle class growing or shrinking? Are these jobs the result of the Trillion+ thrown at the issue or just the natural rebound?

Those are questions that need to be answered before crowing about achievement.
