Tailgating set up question

My group last year used to park a truck full of the tailgating equipment on the side of Nicholson last year the night before the game and when we were ready to go to the game, we could just pack it back up. Obviously that's not going to be an option this year. I know Highland and Nicholson will be one way flows but when will this begin? I live on Highland Rd by Chimes, so would we be able to drive down Highland around 7 am, find a spot to unload and just pick our stuff back up around 1:30 am after the game? We'll have people stay with this tailgate this year, so packing up before the game won't be a necessity. If you have better plans feel free to post them.

there are going to be lots of fights over tailgating spots this year. people think spots are their God=given rights. there will be bloodshed. I would carry a gun to squash any beef.

If someone tried to take our spot I would shank them.
Noone will though. It is a pain in the arse to get to our spot so noone else would take the time to setup for it.

This is what worries me. Ours is pretty accessible. Luckily me and the 3 other tailgates on our street are waiting in line at 4PM for the gates to open. What concerns me are the people that drop tent frames off earlier during the day. I will straight up move their shite across the street

as long as people are willing to compromise for space, I don't see it getting bad. It would be like some dudes just randomly placing their shite last year in one of the nicholson spots.

I think there's a difference between the first of the year and the middle of the season. I might get mad if someone comes in for the Bama game and sets up where we've been all year, but I think it's understandable when it's a new year, especially given the circumstances this year.

Agreed. We've been in the same spot for about ten years. If someone puts their tent frames on our spot before us, we'll kindly move them to the side or behind us, and explain the situation. There is plenty room where we are for additional groups.
But like said, if someone shows up for the Bama game (or mid year), then all bets are off relative to negotiations. I think there is more leeway in "planting your flag" prior to the first game.

Usually impossible..but if they get out there around 5AM..props to them. I'd move over in that event. However, if my spot is roped off and they put their frames inside that area....their shite is getting moved.

You do realize LSU's tailgating policy is first come first serve? Not "if you've been there for 5 years then you're entitled to it"

I'm pretty sure everyone hasn't gotten their map yet of legacy tailgate spots yet so rule of thumb dictates first come first serve.

Yes. I drop my trailer off at 4PM when the gates open and rope our spot off. Ropes or security tape IMO are the same as tent frames. If some idiot wants to put his frames inside of our area...I'll move them.
In the event he beats me out there in the morning to setup (highly unlikely)..I would move over because props to him.

Well if you had someone go out there and rope it off first then I would say you have claim to it and no someone can't come behind and try to claim it.

How strictly do they enforce the minimum time? Could someone go set up their place at like noon on Friday if they just marched their stuff from the gates to the spot?
