Since the OT was so helpful in guiding me toward getting a new AC installed at a great cost....I need to use your experience of getting a reasonable tree cutter to take down a large dying tree in my yard. Any recommendations of who you've used, costs, free estimates, etc.
Any help would be appreciated since I can't get the Parish Drainage dept to take responsibility for removal of the tree that is on the servitude of a drainage ditch. They say "it's my problem, not theirs".

Thanks...I'll try to get about 3 estimates at least as I have no idea the cost to do this now. I had 3 trees removed after Katrina but there were so many out of town tree people here cutting trees that I could get great prices because of the competition.

I used BiggZ in the last year to remove 2 large water oaks and various other trees. I got estimates from 4 companies.

His estimate was the most complete and was delivered on schedule. His was also the least expensive. They did the work as promised and left the site in good condition.

Zeff is not your typical tree guy, you'll see.

Smart move. After Gustav, we had 4 different quotes to remove a huge fallen tree in our back yard.
They ranged from $4,000 to $11,000.

Just make sure whoever you get is insured and bonded, get a copy of their certificate before they start....house behind mine had some people cutting down a tree and the crane toppled over and fell through the neighbors house...it is worth paying more for an insured service
