Statutory rape victim forced to pay child support

"It was a shock," he said. "I was living my life and enjoying being young. To find out you have a 6-year-old? It's unexplainable. It freaked me out."
He said he panicked, ignored the legal documents and never got the required paternity test. The state eventually tracked him down.
Olivas said he now owes about $15,000 in back child support and medical bills going back to the child's birth, plus 10 percent interest. The state seized money from his bank account and is now garnisheeing his wages at $380 a month.

This is evil. It would be absolutely unthinkable and ridiculous for a woman to be forced to pay child support to her male rapist so why is this ok with the genders reversed?

I was 16 when I had my first older experience with a 26 year old woman. Mud knew what he was doing but glad he didn't have a kid.

This is fricked on so many levels.
Let's forget he was 14 when she banged him for a second.
How can a women raise a kid for ten years then say, you know what I decided the father does need suppot the kid from day 1?
He didn't even know the kid existed.

When its your fricking kid you need to pay up regardless if you were young or not. If your old enough to have it your old enough to pay for it.

It's either rape or it isn't. In this country, you cannot consent to sex at that age, therefore he should not be responsible for something he didn't consent to.

Woops.
I get the shock factor of it but doesn't excuse him from not getting the test done. So at the point he did frick up and it's time to pay up for fricking up as an adult.
