I searched and my question was not answered. I just finished watching it. Loved it.

Here is my question. Has an entire new time line been created meaning all previous movies are negated or did I miss something at the end?

Seems like they are setting up a universe that can nullify every movie to date except this one. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Portions of X-Men 1 and 2 clearly happened, but X3 is completely erased.

Clearly the timeline was changed significantly.

However, the possibility has been left open that X-Men and most of II happened. We didn't see Logan's claws in the changed timeline so we don't know how much of his personal history has been altered.

Bottom line is they haven't decided yet whether they want to redeem Fassbender's Magneto in the next movie or leave it where he becomes McKellen's version that we've seen in the first couple of movies.

I don't think Magneto will ever really change as far as his war against humanity is concerned. I expect him to be an anti-hero in the next film as he fights Apocalypse and isn't a twist villain at the end like he has been in a few of the movies. I think Charles choosing to spare him will save the entire planet.

That confused me. Having Mystique pulling up Logan as Stryker could mean anything.

Thanks both of yall.

I get that he became part of the X-Men and is a part of the school so yes clearly parts will still be the same, it just seems they can go from anywhere at this point.

Extremely open ended so to say. I just want to get a better understanding of what's real and what's not.

Yea that is part of my questions on how everything could be changed.

The whole movie is just one big middle finger to X3

Understood, but I'm hoping that the next movie will jump past the point where he gets the adamantium installed.

The bone claws are about 99% less cool than the adamantium claws.

The end of "Days of Future Past" started a mostly new timeline, where there is no Dark Phoenix. Quite possible that none of the movies happened.

I don't think so.
Only X-men: First Class has happened now.

Good thing they didn't make an X3-type mistake with the Indiana Jones franchise. Stopping with The Last Crusade was the right move.

When Logan wakes up in the end, he sees Rogue and she has her streak in her hair. That means at least parts of X-men 1 happened.

Also Prof X seemed like he knew what Logan went through. Obviously it was a part of his past so it would make sense.

I just need to re-watch it again I think.
