If Joe Montana isn't your top QB of all time, who is and why?

Anytime an all time QB ranking is posted anywhere, Montana is usually number 1. But some people go a different route. I've never seen anyone really explain their reasoning, but if anyone here has anyone over Montana feel free to post who and why. Just looking for some serious discussion though, no need to flame anyone if they have someone #1 you don't agree with.

Dan Marino just because he passed for 5000Yds 48 TDs in an era where defense was not held back at all.

I think it's Manning. He dosent have the rings, but I think he was better at playing QB than Montana.

Brady, he won the most with less. And is still doing it.

i think Marino was the best passer i've seen.

quick release.

his passes had a lot of zip on them.

Brett Favre had the strongest arm to me.

Joe Montana was the most clutch QB I've ever seen.

If I was building my all time team, I think I would go with Montana. The only time I can remember him not delivering on a championship stage was against the Giants in the NFC Title. He got hurt so I give him a pass there?

Edit: nevermind. Forgot he lost in the AFC title game as the Chiefs starting QB. Lol.... Marty Ball.

Drew Brees, who has NEVER had a Pro Bowl wide receiver has had, on average, 4,256 yards passing, 30 TD a year over a 12 year NFL career

I almost immediately discount any yardage/TD totals or achievements amassed in the last dozen years or so in this age of no-defense Arena Ball. I'm sorry, it has become the passing equivalent of the Steroid Era in baseball.

The only answer is Marino.

Meh. Only won championships when he had a defense and was spying on the other team.

Since their defense has regressed and since they were busted for spying, Brady hasn't reached near the same heights he did during the "dynasty"* run

The "Brady does more with less" argument is vastly overused and just isn't true.
