SEATTLE (AP) - Former Seattle Seahawks running back Spencer Ware has been arrested for investigation of driving under the influence.
Jail records show Ware was booked into jail in Kent, south of Seattle, at 3:21 a.m. Tuesday. KIRO-TV reports (https://is.gd/f4pmE9 ) he hasn't been charged and the case was referred to the Maple Valley prosecutor's office.
The Seahawks waived Ware on Saturday as the team's roster was trimmed to 53. He played two games for Seattle in 2013 after skipping his final year of eligibility at Louisiana State University to enter the NFL draft.
This is Ware's second DUI arrest this year. He was arrested in January in Seattle, but that case was dismissed after a judge suppressed evidence gathered after he was stopped.
Ware is scheduled to appear in Maple Valley Municipal Court on Monday.

A shame..... Hope things get better for him.....

Unfortunately, having a few beers and driving home isn't uncommon. Even if sober you understands the risk to yourself and others, alcohol doesn't lead to the best decision making.

Doesn't the NFL have a free ride service for all active NFL players? I would abuse the hell out of that.

Someone should have told him to get an Uber.

Bad couple of days for him.

If this is true, all these NFL players getting DWIs is asinine.

They absolutely do. All current/former nfl players are able to use a free ride service anywhere in the country.

and i'm sure the same logic was at play in giving up that Senior season... tough break for a good kid

quote:if.... There has been many stories about this service. All organizations pay for it, NFL, MLB, NHL. They get an Armed escort(ex military , ex police, or off duty police) that drives them around in black escalades. At no cost to the player.
If this is true, all these NFL players getting DWIs is asinine.
It is quite obvious as to why many players dont take advantage of this...... they dont allow drugs in the vehicles

Not that he would have used it even if available, but it sounds like he wasn't an active NFL player at the time as he had been cut
