aTm's jump is justified by the eye test. As much as I dislike them, they impressed me the most in week 1.

OSU not being ranked after losing to the "undisputed" # 1 team by only 6 points. And 10 of those points were scored in the 4th qtr.

Yet ASU beats Weber State and moves up 2

No logic what so ever.

this is a piece of crap. both fsu and bama should fall in polls. LSU beat the highest ranking losing team. LSU should be top 10.

people are worrying about TAM for no reason. they may annihilate everyone else but they wont beat us and they wont beat bama.

that offense always does this, sumlin came up under joe tiller, dennis erickson, and mike price, the single or no back spread will always run wild on an average defense and then slam into a brick wall when it faces a good one. its weakness is as unavoidable as its strength.

its a very simple offense to teach, that's why it always has such consistently good QB play, even from freshman, but its also simple to stop if you have the right type of players. and we do. which is not a coincidence, it's the type of players Miles and Chavis want, it's an army of tall, strong corners and speed off the edge.

a team like TAM will always win 9 or 10 games a year but it wont win a title except through sheer random luck, unless they somehow manage to never face a good defense.

1/3 of the top 15 is the SEC west.

Winning the west should carry more weight than winning any conference

Especially this year. It's going to be a grind all around.

It's not out of the question that Mississippi State could be ranked as well by the time we play them. The West is brutal.

why does anyone care about the polls anymore? They are ridiculously flawed.

Now with the playoff committee, polls don't matter. Unless you just want something to argue about - then the polls are a gold mine.

Because the playoff field will look a whole lot like the top 4 teams in the polls come December.

This poll might not have a direct effect on anything, but the committee will do its own poll starting in late October, and it will likely be influenced by the other polls. Once they start releasing their poll, that's the one that really matters.

Wisconsin should be #14, between Stanford and USC. Michigan State should be higher too; doesn't matter, MSU will make the Final Four anyways.

UCLA

Also, why is Notre Dame ranked again?. . . Wait, I already know.

How is freaking Bama #2? If they are going by results Georgia should be ahead of them.

No biggie, although I thought LSU would move up more than just 1 spot.

Kind of strange Miss St isn't ranked at all, maybe the voters figured 5 from the SEC West was enough.

Needless to say, lot's of opportunities ahead to move up, and also get bumped down but I love the challenge of it and I'm sure Miles/LSU does as well.

I hope state is ranked for selfish reasons, but also because their fans need something to look forward to
