Looking at adding one to my cell phone plan but I don't know if I want to buy one or just use my cell phone as a hot spot.

I have verizon on my cell.

Just looking at the pros and cons or each. Thanks

That's what I'm leaning toward but I just don't know enought to know which direction would be best.

it's probably cheaper to add to your phone, but easier to use a separate device.

I have the one that plugs into the computer usb port, so you don't have to charge it. You can turn it into a hot spot for others. My plan is 5 gigs a month which is plenty if you don't stream video. I use it at customer sites. Similar to this:

If you have enough data available on your plan you can root your phone (assuming its android), load a custom ROM, and use the capabilities of your phone with the built in wifi hot spot. You can also increase your data plan to accomplish this if you dont have enough already.

Hotspot on your phone kills your battery quick.

On an iPhone on VZW, can't use hotspot and make a call.

Keep those two things in mind.

Ps hotspot is free on Vzw "More Everything" plans.
