I try to visit about once a month to see how the American Communist Party is doing. I always check on May Day and Labor Day (that's like their Xmas and Easter).

Yesterday's visit had a bunch of Michael Brown articles... not unusual. Communists are for the oppressed and blacks are oppressed by 'the system'
Lots of stuff about the Koch brothers and how evil the concept of profit is. Again not unusual.

But then there are a bunch of environmental/green rants. What does that have to do with Communism? I don't recall Marx being a big environmentalist. Also don't recall the USSR or Cuba being overly concerned about the environment.

An effective mechanism.

I remember him running in the 80s with Angela Davis as running mate. Do you remember Harold Stassen? Why do these weird candidates all seem to come from Minnesota?

I asked my golf buddy (a Minn native) that last year re: the election of Al Franken. He said "I have no friggin' idea, Zach, and it makes me friggin' sick."

BTW, who assigned blue to Democrats and red to Republicans? Logically it should be the reverse.

Don't forget Ventura won governorship there as a member of the Reform Party.

As an interesting bit of trivia, it actually used to be the reverse, mirroring the British color system.

This is a concise article on point:

Yeah, but I never got the idea that the term "Reform Party" had any meaning. It was just an organization in place from Ross Perot that he used.

Ventura had a libertarian streak in him.

The funny thing about environmentalists being communist is that economies that were controlled by the state were by far the worst polluters in human history. Red China and the evil soviet union had absolutely no environmental standards.

The soviet planners actually destroyed the Aral sea on purpose. It was part of a five year plan.

The shrinking of the Aral sea is one of the worst environmental disasters in human history, far worse than anything capitalism has caused.

For those not familiar with...

Aral sea Disaster

And the reason Americans aren't familiar with it is because the media loves the USSR. A wonderful experiment in equality gone slightly wrong.
