Making a pit stop on my way back home in a week. Have sadly never been there. Was going to get some Andouille, hogs head cheese, boudin, and a loaf of French bread to make some bread pudding.

I've heard there is a lot more to the store than a meat market. Any other can't miss items I should look into?

I'd pass on the boudin and get that at Billy's

Smoked boudin at Best Stop is pretty damn good. Then to to Billy's for boudin balls and cracklins.

Must have taken us 40 minutes to get boudin at Billy's yesterday. It was worth it.

The boudin balls and cracklins at Billy's about 3 miles South on the same highway, but across the interstate.

The Best Stop has seen its better days and has been surpassed in my opinion. Don't waste your time or your money there just for MEH product when the good stuff is so close and much easier to get to.

They are PRINTING money at that Scott location... Everytime I stop, it's packed.

There's a reason Billy's has 50 people in line while you can walk up and buy what you need in 30 seconds at Best Stop

I'm short on time. And it's for Texas natives that won't know any better.

Billy's has a drive thru. Took me 5 minutes when there were 45+ people inside.

I can't remember. Was on the way back from my son's soccer tournament in Lake Charles. I think the construction at the Scott exit should be finished by now. It was kind of a cluster frick when I went. I got the boudin, smoked boudin, pepper jack boudin balls and some cracklins. They were all great.

Too bad boudin balls have such a short shelf life. I'm getting stuff for a party on Sunday

They didn't make it back to I-10. I ate two of them before I was heading east on the interstate.

No HHC at Billy's. But their smoked boudin and pepper jack boudin balls are fantastic. I would make those two items my last meal if ever condemned to execution....

I'm guessing this wasn't the typical wait time, because half the people in line were LSU fans headed back home from the game. But the other half appeared to be locals.

I'll try that next time. We were buying some frozen stuff, so I needed to go inside and look around.
