I think Jennings will be a great QB. I think his struggles had more to do with terrible play calling and a few drops than anything. He threw dimes when we needed them and played smart. It was difficult for him to get in a rhythm with the drops and some questionable calls on third downs. The offensive line liooked ok but the tight ends straight whiffed on a few blocks on passing downs. I understand Welter is a leader out there but he just doesn't have it. He actually looks for someone to engage him rather than make a play. Beckwith needs to be in there over welter. I think the defensive line will improve over time but it will be our weak spot on defense no matter what. I was happy to see Hilliard play well and he looked like he did some work in the offseason to improve his speed. Overall I thought we looked much better than I did last night. Expectations were just too high. Can't wait for next Saturday.

There were drops, but don't act like he didn't miss receivers by 10-15 yards too. Also zero touch on the screens. It wasn't just the tight ends and play calling.

That said, just win baby.

His early incompletion to Quinn as he was escaping the pocket told me how much he has improved since last season. It wasn't caught, but it was on the money.

ok but successful screens require the qb to hold the ball longer and suck in the tacklers. the problem I saw was AJ was forced to get rid of the ball almost immediately due to the pass rush. the middle screen we ran did OK.
