Am I the only one impressed with the performance last night?

Our new, young defensive line faced one of the best running backs in the nation and a huge, experienced offensive line. Sure, they were gashed for big plays early on, but once the chief started dialing in the right blitz packages, their rushing attack was slowed down a lot. They forced Mcevoy to throw and that obviously wasn't going to work against our defensive backs. Hunter and Rasco looked really good. Even though there were no sacks, they forced mcevoy out of the pocket and made him uncomfortable. The offense was bad in the first half but once it was time for business, they got it done in a big way.
All in all we had first game jitters, but so did the almighty Florida State, and the apparently "soft" Alabama, so did Ole (smelly dried up) Piss, so did the UCLA Bruins. Even auburn struggled a bit. We are in good shape imo. This team could rival the 2010 and 2012 teams imo. Here's to an entertaining, and hopefully successful season

It wasn't an impressive game statistically but for a young team, they showed a ton of heart and the ability, fairly early, to fight back and be resilient. That's a promising thing to take away from a game for such a young team that's just starting its development arc.

Exactly what I am trying to communicate

They best grow up in a hurry....SEC West opponents are right around the corner and UGA well looked like well the SEC Championship is next week and they were in it.

First half was a young team.
Second half was veteran team.
Shook off the rust and the timid-ness. Came out with LSU swagger! The next three games are cupcakes and I know Les, Cam and Chavis with work the kinks out and even add a wrinkle or two.

Our defensive line was pretty poor for three quarters. God bless the Wisconsin coordinator for not feeding Gordon more in the late third/early fourth quarter and trying to throw the ball.
They did show resiliency in never giving up and looked very good in all facets in the fourth quarter. It was a great win but we still fill like the 4th best team in the SEC West right now

Maybe. We'll see. I think we're 3rd right now.

The 2nd half was a little impressive especially the two picks and Kenny Hilliard

Wins over ranked teams are always impressive, and LSU under Les Miles beats ranked teams just about as often as anybody.

And the monster play by Diarse

I like the potential. They showed a lot of heart

I have Auburn, Bama and A&M ahead of us. Then it is LSU, Miss State and Ole Miss. The homer in me says we're the best of that bunch, but there is a colorable argument for all three.
The most controversial is whether A&M should be listed ahead of us. They still have lots of weakness on defense but they rival Auburn for the best offense. If you are honest, we have defense issues too, although we have a run defense issue and A&M has a pass defense issue.
I put A&M ahead of us right now because they dominated a pretty good USCe on the road and we escaped against an OK Wisconsin team in a glorified home game.

Did we play our best football for 60 minutes? No. Did we do what we needed to do to win? Yes, and that's what really counts. I kept thinking we would need a big play to give us a spark, and the fake punt was exactly what we needed. Nearly everything went our way after that.
So I wouldn't say I was impressed with our overall performance, but I was very impressed with our performance when we were down 24-7, especially with such a young team. We could've let it get in our heads and gone down by more, but instead we rallied to win. That's huge.

The comeback was something to remember for sure. Fix some mistakes and that's a blowout. I think our dline is gonna hurt come SEC though. And welter is still making tackles from behind because he's always getting ran by. We also found a qb.

Gordon would've got 200 yds if he wasn't put in the doghouse

I think that most of us agree with you mostly.
Last night reminded me of the mentality that the '07 team had. I was pissed off and boiling but I knew that they had a good chance of winning and never missed a second of play. In fact, I believed that they were going to win and never really doubted them.
They are going to get much better as they go on once again I can see them winning every game that they play. That is why I predict that they will go undefeated.

I'm impressed as hell with that 2nd half. Defense was

I'm less than impressed with Bama. They played a pretty average team that self destructed in the red zone. Most of WVa's problems were self inflicted especially in the passing game.
Auburn and aTm are pretty damn good. Old Missy.....meh. I want to see them against top caliber competition. MooU who knows?
