The woes of watching my first LSU game in Shreveport

So I went to rotolos in Shreveport last night to watch the game. I just moved here from Baton Rouge, and just assumed a place like Rotolos would have the LSU vibe..... boy was I wrong.
When we got there, the place was packed with delusional Tech fans that crammed in there because they were too cheap to pay for pay per view. Nobody was still eating, but nobody was moving from their tables. They were getting their arse handed to them by Oklahoma, but bursting into jubilant roars at every play for positive yards.
We got a table just as the game started, and we're getting eye fricked by everyone in there like we didn't belong there in our P&G. After we stalled in the first drive, Wisconsin drove down field and scored. The cheers started to ring out, and when I looked to the TV that Tech was taking a pummeling on, it was at commercial break.... I looked around and to my embarrassment and dismay, tech fans were cheering for the badgers. Wtf??
I could never pick up and move back to BR because when I move again, it will be to a cleaner, nicer city. But moving here has made me realize just how good I had it in BR. Not only does the customer service suck, most of the people aren't cordial, the food isn't good, there is nothing in this city people are loyal to or come together around, you can't even watch a damn LSU game at a BR based restaurant without feeling out of place, and over hear trash talk and envious comments. Smh

There are lots of Tiger fans in Shreveport. Sounds like you may have picked the wrong bar.

I hate fans of louisiana schools that do that, I always cheer for the smaller Louisiana schools to win unless they are playing LSU

Yep. The area was overwhelmingly pro LSU when I lived there.

Hope it is miserable for the rest of your days here. Go back to Baton Rouge.

I'm sure on a weekend that Tech isn't playing Oklahoma on pay per view, Rotolos would be a great place to watch the LSU game. I was more referring to how shittty and pathetic the Tech fans were. But my overall experience with the people and restaurants here thus far has been sub part and well below Baton Rouge

Way better places to watch games in Shreveport than at some chain dump like Rotolos.

sigh. More shitty people.
Hat Tricks, Rotolos in BR didn't feels so much like a chain, but what are some other places?

Lived in Shv and BR Lots of tiger fans in Shv and you should have gone to a sports bar to watch the game also pizza better at Johnnys

Do you really expect Shreveport to be just like Baton Rouge? I live in Shreveport and there are a ton of tiger fans here but come on bro

Most people are watching it with their friends at somebody's house. The only people going to Rotolos are cheap Tech fans or people with no friends.
Sounds like you're gonna make lots of friends.
Enjoy your stay.

Next time do Superior bar and grill. Great food, all LSU. It'll never be BR kind of atmosphere...the school isn't here, but trust me it's still P&G all the way. We Yankees love the Tigers.

What do you think your experience would have been if you were at a restaurant in Lafayette while a ULL game was on right before an LSU game.
I can assure you much worse. As someone else mentioned, it sounds like you made the wrong choice.

I went to Tech and have lived in Shreveport for 8 years.
I've never met anyone who actively cheers against LSU.

That type of Tech fan behavior in Shreveport is pretty unusual. Most Tech fans I know pull for LSU and have more reasonable views about their status on the CFB food chain.
That kind of behavior would get them hooted out of most S'port bars.

They were all actively cheering against LSU
No over reaction, just an observation.
And to the poster saying I don't have friends, we went with several friends. Some of us had prior engagements through the day, making everyone choose to go somewhere instead of stay home and cook. Next time I'll probably stay home and cook
