My biggest gripe the past few seasons (and last night)

Why do we call hurry up offense, to then run the exact same play. It is never helpful for the offense when the defense knows what you are doing.

After Dural's 2nd deep ball, we get a good carry by LF, only to call a quick play, and run the exact same play.

This is hardly ever effective, and we have practiced this for at least the past 3 years (I think we may have scored one TD with Hill or Hilliard last year by doing this).

Overall, our success ratio on our hurry up offense has to be terrible. I have no problem with the hurry up, but to hurry up, to run the exact same play, typically equates to a wasted down.

Auburn won the SEC last year doing mostly that exact same thing. It's about execution and nothing else.

If you woke up today and thought about things related to the game that you need to gripe about online then you suck at life.

:-)

Some of you guys really crack me up.

We can pretend that we were not all having a fit going into the fourth quarter of last night's game.

Point being;
I was disappointed at our lack of creativity on offense.

The speed-up, call-the-same play only added to our lack of creativity in our play calling. Where was the heavy mix of play action that we showed during the spring game.

It is a shame that we often wait until we are in danger of losing before we decide to open up the Playbook (a.k.a. Mix the run with the pass). Instead of run, run, pass on 3rd and 6.
Or run, run, run, punt. The play book used in the 4th quarter, should be the same Playbook used in the first quarter.

P.S.
Auburn appears to run the same play, but being a true option team, they call various runs, from the same set (making it look like the same play. We typically call the exact same play when we go hurry up.
The day we call tempo, and follow the previous run with a play action pass, it should be easy money.

Yeah where was the double reverse throw back pass?

Yeah I mean it was exactly like a controlled, scripted scrimmage wasn't it?

Because passing is LSU's strength this year?

No reason to adjust during the game is there?

Since Auburn is an option team they run different things depending on what the defense gives them, not because of clever play calling, hence the term option. They start out the same then adjust as the play progresses. They do call other plays off of the option which are dictated on defense adjustments to the basic option run.

No one is asking for a double reverse, but what about having some of our WR (who look like they can play) cross the middle of the field every so often. What about some quick slants to help you're QB get into a rhythm. Maybe stick a TE in the slot every once in a while to create a mismatch. A bootleg on 1st down inside the 10. Maybe a wrinkle other than off-takle, toss dive, and every pass being outside the hashes

Every time LSU goes "hurry up" after 1st down it is 99% the toss-dive. 8/10 times all it leads to is third down.

Certainly not LSU's strength this year, but Wisc was absolutely stuffing the run and loading the box. Why wait until you're down 24-7 to try to open up the passing game just a bit?

If you don't watch the game an think LSU's playcalling is absolutely predictable, then I don't know what to say. For frick's sake, the QB and FB reach behind their back to tell the RB where to run the ball on running plays.

You should already know that unbiased analysis is rarely allowed. You are an obvious hater if you find flaws in our game play.

You can't make sense and expect to have a decent discussion about the game.

-Sarcasm off-

Thanks for typing the logic that I didn't feel like laying out (pointing out flaws to some of our fans is like talking to a brick wall, or trying to have an in depth conversation with someone who has a minimal understanding of the game of football).

I think you dropped so much truth that the post disappeared from the rant.
All threads come to a drastic halt once common sense and logic come into play.

Well done my friend.
