1 Back vs. 2 Back Sets

Let me start by saying I'm not against running the football. I don't believe we have to throw it all over the field to win.
Here are some stats from last night. Unfortunately I missed from 4:47 in the 1st quarter til 11:00 in the second due to thunderstorm and satellite.
2 back running plays gained 45 yds on 19 attempts for an average of 2.37 yds.
I didn't even count a 2 yd gain on a reverse and a -11 yd loss on a fumbled pitch.
1 back set running plays gained 106 yds on 15 carries for 7.07 yds.
These numbers support a belief I've had for a while.

we should play two back sets with hilliard/fournette

Blows my mind, would love to see us spread the field and have only one RB...
We do it from shotgun, why not under center more?

Absolutely. In 2 back sets they were putting 8 in box, one more than we could block. 1 back sets they put six, the same number as our blockers.

If we actually learn how to run the read and speed option, then yes, go one back set

It's not necessarily 1 back vs 2 backs, it's more WRs and spreading the field out. The threat of a pass is there so safeties are back, and someone has to leave the box to go cover the wideouts.
It's simple physics really and I don't see how the coaches can't see this. When there are fewer people in a small area, you have a better chance of not getting tackled. We have some of the best backs in the country too, spread that shite out and let them gain some yards! And if they still pack the box, throw that shite cause somebody isn't being covered

I want you with some headsets on and tell them to scale back on the 2 back sets. There is a time and a place but it shouldn't be our primary running set.
You mentioned that it wasn't the 1 or 2 back sets but rather the numbers of receivers but that is what dictates our number of receivers
