It looks like he will fill in the Aaron Hernandez role.

I've got Antonio Gates and Tyler Eifert as my sleeper. Wondering if I should drop Eifert for Wright.

The patriots don't have the same OC as when Hernandez and Gronk were both there, so don't expect Hernandez numbers out of him. That being said, if Gronk gets hurt he could have real value.

In his first action with New England he basically ran pass routes from the TE position. It's a flier so it may work, may not. I'd give it a shot over Eifert just due to Cincy have an absolute #1 WR. I'd keep Gates.

I picked him up in 2 leagues that have deep benches.

He's not as talented and a healthy Gronk the entire season would obviously limit his production, but he's a 24 year old big target (6'4 220lbs) that has been brought in to run pass routes and create mismatches with LBs. He'll have Brady throwing to him and be on a good team. I like him as a flier and if Gronk misses time he could have some serious production.

I don't know to be honest. Brady never looked much at his tight ends unless Gronk and Hernandez came into the picture. I think it was more Brady throwing to his best receivers, regardless of their TE designation. Look at how he never threw to tight ends when Gronk was out. I think that was a matter of them being studs, not the system.

Now that said, I like Tim Wright as a player, so probably worth the risk if you are only talking about a guy like Tyler Eifert.

Eh, I would not say "loved". Watson should have been a top tight end with prime Brady. Dude had stone hands.

Was literally my only option. Only other guys on waiver are Geno Smith and Chad Henne. QBs get .5 per completion, 5 pt bonus at 300 yds, and 5 pt bonus at 400 yds. They were all gone. Matt Cassel and Josh Mcnown are also there, but at the time I picked Manuel he was the only QB who I knew would start for his team.
