As a rec. I am coming to this board because you guys apparently can go basically anywhere in the world for around that price. (According to teddy)

Anyway, the wife and I have a vacation pretty much picked out for 2500 bucks, but before we book it we wanted to think of any and all other options that we could do instead for the same price.

2500 isn't our set budget or anything but for a 5 night vacation in the Caribbean at an all inclusive resort it's not bad. (Includes both flights too)

So if you guys have any other recs for around the same price or even a bit more but worth it I'd appreciate the rec.

Thanks

You could go to Saint Lucia for that and it would be all inclusive

We are going here in November but they have good reviews on trip advisor LINK /

Also this is a good website to finds deals and what you need to know about the area. This is how I found Cap Maison but I learned long ago in my travels always book directly if you can LINK /

The one we have picked out now is sandals whitehouse.

Labor Day special, returning guest discount and military discount make it 2500 for everything for 5 nights. And it's a quick flight there too.

No sarcasm but doing what you said would take getting a new credit card, planning, and racking up points. Don't really have time for that for this one.

Plus, I haven't started my next job yet, full time atleast, so I won't be able to get a cc.

This vacation will Be mid October. Btw.

I do need to look into credit card options eventually though. Like which card would be best to get and all.

Currently don't hVe a cc. Wife does though.

The last post in the thread is way doable for your situation most likely and fits where you want to go.

Are you traveling over winter? I would have suggested Maine and stuff if it was summer if you want to go opposite of the Caribbean.

For that budget I'd think Pacific Coast, Maine, Caribbean is about your sphere and it's 3 nice options

Ohhhhh October then ya I think Bacon has you pegged.

People honeymoon in St. Lucia and the pics look really nice.

I've never been to Jamaica but please don't go there. Place sounds awful.

St. Lucia would be great but it's slightly more expensive and the flight there + the drive after takes forever.

Also, I don't get why everyone knocks on Jamaica. Sure, if you want to exore the island on your own and drive around it won't be fun. It's very slummy and not great for that. But if I'm going to an all inclusive resort instead and can do an excursion or two I don't care about the rest of the island.

We went to sandals whitehouse for our honeymoon even after people talked shite about Jamaica. We were worried about it but it ended up being awesome.

Check it out.

your cc points will only decrease value over time. If it were me I'd go somewhere we have not gone before

I'd look into Costa Rica and Mexico as well

Not sure where you are flying from, but I live in houston and if we are taking a quick trip we go down to Tulum, Mexico. It's a real quick flight to cancun, have a driver lined up to take you just over an hour to Tulum. Gorgeous beaches. very cool, safe little town. Mayan ruins on the beach, only place in mexico with this, and if you snorkel or dive the Cenotes are there, underground caves full of water to dive/snorkel in. We stay at a place called Hotel Jashita, boutique hotel on solomon bay about 10 min cab from town. If you want more info let me know.

You could have an awesome time in Isla Mujeres, it's a 30 min ferry ride off the coast of can cancun.

Cozumel also has Mayan ruins on its seashore, Castillo Real for one. I will agree that Tulum is more dramatic and worthy seeing but a bit harder to get to and stay in than Cozumel.

Mexico is off my personal travel list for now.

It's rainy season at all of these places unfortunately so not sure which would be the driest.

Looking into London now. If I'm gonna do a big Europe trip around a few countries I'd rather go for 2 weeks but if we just go to London, 5 days would be sufficient.
