i have a 14' johnboat and a pirogue and kayak that i will be using this year for duck hunting. i haven't done a test run yet but i think i'd prefer to tow the kayak and/or pirogue rather than put them on top considering how much room they take up. anyone have any experiences trying to tow one behind a small johnboat? anything to look out for?

Either way will work. I would personally place said pirogue in said boat.

just make sure you have more weight to the back of the yak or pirogue

Which ever you tow, make sure you put the plug in them.

We tried pulling and it never works good for us. We put it in the boat now.

It can be done, but it's APITA.

Make some big L brackets that can mount on the sides of the boat. 10x better if you have a long way to travel. You will thank me later.

This sounds like the right answer.

A lot of rope and something to keep nose up. Whatever you put in pirogue make sure it's strapped down, I'd throw sack of decoys in back and roll. I've had them flip when I wasn't paying attention. Just be careful in turns they will slide out on you.

This! After a very cold morning hunt, we were at the landing and my pirogue floated in front of me. Wasn't paying any attention and ran over it, flipping me over. Nothing like a cold bath in the bayou.
