quote:

At a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in New York Friday, President Obama attributed people’s pervasive sense the world is falling apart to “social media.” “The world’s always been messy … we’re just noticing now in part because of social media,” Obama said. “I can see why a lot of folks are troubled,” he said. But American military superiority has never been greater, he added, according to a pool report.

I guess that 6 years in, the shelf life on blaming Bush has run out.

In a way it's somewhat true. Part of the reason ISIL is getting so much attention is due to their social media platform. If they were doing the terrible things they do without a wide outlet, it would never reach most people, thus the general public would be less concerned.

social media makes it easier for people removed from the happening world to get bits and pieces of info and then have comments.
