AS VEGAS — WWE legend Jake “The Snake” Roberts is in intensive care after being diagnosed with double pneumonia, according to a report from WrestlingInc.com.
A hospital spokeswoman in Las Vegas told USA TODAY Sports Roberts was admitted to the facility on Wednesday.
According to the report, Roberts flew to Las Vegas on Wednesday to appear in a show when he became unconscious on the plane.
Roberts was in a coma for 24 hours but was out of it as of Thursday night, according to the report.
Roberts was an iconic star for WWE in the 1980s and 1990s and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in April.

He has had a collapsed lung before. He was in the hospital in Shreveport for it

Double pneumonia
This is a historical term for acute lung injury (ALI) or acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).[6] However, the term was, and is used still, especially by lay people, to denote pneumonia affecting both lungs. Accordingly, the term 'double pneumonia' is more likely to be used to describe bilateral pneumonia than it is ALI or ARDS.
(With the coma aspect though I would think it is probably ARDS, even though they have stated "double pneumonia" just my two cents)

James Garner, Robin Williams and now Jake the Snake for the trifecta. Sad month.

I've had double pneumonia, it's not fun. Basically pneumonia in both lungs. Doctors use that term as a simplification to their patients.

You have two lungs. When you have pneumonia in both lungs it's called double pneumonia.

Actually bilateral would be the "more correct" term.

Jake the Snake. My favorite wrestler of all time from his Mid South wrestling days

I've treated literally thousands of cases of pneumonia and this is the first time I've ever heard the term "double pneumonia."
I have heard of ARDS though. Very serious condition, hope he pulls through.
The correct term would be multilobar pneumonia.

Meh, you have multiple lobes in each lung.
