Maybe not political but it has to do with our justice system just the same.

ANGLETON, Texas (AP) — A southeast Texas man says that despite his acquittal Wednesday for the shooting death of the drunken driver who caused a crash that killed his two sons, there are no winners.

Kind of incredible to me it went that far with pretty much no evidence and only motive.

They had nothing to convict him with. It was kind of a cut and dry case.

Who the hell shot this guy if not the accused? I wouldn't call this case shut and dry at all, simply lacking some crucial pieces of evidence. If I recall, didn't this guy claim not to own any firearm, yet they found ammunition consistent with that used upon the victim in his home?

In my mind, the guy accused shot the guy. But there isn't evidence, only motive. You want to start convicting people based on nothing but motive?

Circumstantial

there was little physical evidence linking Barajas to the killing.

Further complicating their case was that there were no witnesses who identified Barajas as the shooter, and gunshot residue tests done on Barajas came back negative.
Sounds like the jury did the right thing
