How much do you think fights in the stadium would increase? I'm thinning it would probably triple.

Horrible thread that makes LSU fans look like trash. Also, title's against the rules.

How so? People are already drinking much harder stuff in the stadium anyway.

I don't believe so. Most people I know are already shite housed walking into the stadium.

The ones that fight are the ones already bringing booze into the stadium
Nothing would change except better attendance and people staying longer

might go down, first of all, half of everyone be in line or the restroom at any given time, and it might cut down on the over drinking to counter no beer sales in the stadium

This. The people that get in the fights are the same ones that smuggle in enough liquor to get a small town drunk.

I actually think it would be LESS problematic.
As it is, those that really want to drink, simply drink to excess PRIOR to the game.
If beer were sold, I believe many would simply drink a similar amount...just more gradually, etc.
I don't drink much at all, so it makes no difference to me.

People would consume less bourbon in the stadium

It would increase exponentially. People would have to pee more than drinking liquor. They wouldn't have their ziplocs full of liquor, so they could pee in them in order to not miss the game. More piss bombs = more fights.

Not to mention the beers would be expensive enough that people wouldn't want to pay that much to get that wasted.

I've read articles and stats before that made the claim that binge drinkings and fights actually go down when alcohol is sold in stadium

Not going to happen as long as SEC rules forbid it.

binge drinking would decrease, and the crowds would stay in the stadium longer.
add in wifi upgrades, and a one time re-entry and you've just made tiger stadium the best game day experience in the country.

Those fights in the suites are getting out of control.

there's no rule. just an agreement.
first school to do it will be the first domino to fall.

They have done studies that show how selling alcohol at sporting events actually cuts down on the incidents. People get loaded before the game knowing that they can't drink at the game and/or they sneak in a flask. Allowing the purchasing of alcohol at the stadium curtails this enough to subsequently cut down on alcohol related incidents.
