Whole Foods has a good deal on ribeyes this weekend. Do any of you freeze good cuts of meat? Should I leave it in the original packaging from whole foods or rewrap it in cellophane?

Do not freeze in original packaging. Vacuum sealing is best. I freeze steaks, vac-sealed, as I buy a half calf at a time. All of the cuts defrost just fine, but you need to package well to prevent freezer burn.

i read an article recently and it said the best way to freeze steaks is to freeze them on a baking sheet then wrap and put them in ziplocks.

If you season them well before freezing, you talk about some good eats later.

I'm no expert, but I have had luck with this method. It doesn't require any special equipment.

I vac seal them, also, but I let them freeze a bit on a baking sheet before I do it to maintain the shape. Works great.

13.99 lb for ribeyes. That's a good price for them. Yes, I know it isn't cheap in general.

Thanks for all the help guys
