ESPN - "For more than a decade, no FBS programs have experienced more success in out-of-conference games during the regular season than LSU and Wisconsin"

Enjoy the fans responses too -

"Cheers, friend! What a fantastic week 1 matchup!"

"The winner of this game deserves a huge boost in the rankings as well. I would say the winner should be number 8 given the weak teams most in the top 25 will play opening week end."

California fan - "The Hat will have the boys ready. I have a lot of respect for Wisconsin, but Les just doesn't lose non-conf. reg. season games. Sorry, badgers. Tigers by 14."

My take - With Alabama and Ohio St both looking weak at QB, Wisconsin and LSU both appear as bigger heavyweights with a much closer shot at the title than many expected. Yes, this is a big game!

ESPN - "LSU has been the SEC’s standard bearer in the past decade when it comes to these marquee nonconference openers."

Reading this, is like taking Viagra for a Tiger fan.

You'd jump higher in the rankings with a closer win. Blow a ranked team out week 1 and people will just assume they were overrated. Win a close, battle of a game and that's the ticket to the top 8.

Agree, these are two respected heavyweight programs, both with a lot of talent and a lot on the line. Should be a fantastic game, not a blowout.

It's going to be a nerve racking game. I just know it.

This sounds silly...but miles seams to have more trouble with these big ten teams. It makes no sense I know. Penn state...Iowa state.

We drug ohio state however.
