By now you've figured out that your Fire TV has not yet updated the WatchEspn app to include the SEC & Longhorn Networks plus, other new content. This update was made available to the streaming device manufacturers on August 20th with Apple TV rolling it out same day and Roku the following day. After a lot of back & forth with ESPN about who should be doing what, I got an email yesterday that emphatically stated that while they are hopeful that the AFTV owners get updated before SEC games kick off that it is up to the AFTV Development Team to get it done.

I personally have multiple other options for both home and remote SEC Network access but it irks me to no end that they are dragging their feet on such a simple update. I'd urge anyone using a Fire TV to light up Amazon and express your dissatisfaction with the delay on this for a device being marketed on it's high-end specs.

Do people who own these devices care if the ESPN, SEC app is working yet..?

ETA: I don't know many "cord cutters", short of myself and a few others, but I personally do not care if I ever get a sports app..I firmly believe that the engineers behind the software are laughing it up at people that call and complain...You think those guys care about your SEC app...

No, they don't care about a SEC app or any other single little issue for that matter. What they do care about though is numbers of customers dissatisfied about the same thing. Whether you know it or not, when you call Amazon for any support issue the 1st thing they do is examine the call log for similar inquiries. The more they see the more seriously it is considered. On this thing specifically, they're getting more flak than you might think, it involves more than just the SEC.
